About : Long hike around the lakes – Snowshoe hike in the Alpe d’Huez area from Villard-Reculas
From the Villard-Reculas Tourist Office, take the Villarais chairlift, then head back down to Alpe d'Huez via the Signal telemixte, where the walk starts.
From here, take the Poutran trail, a moderately steep but continuous route that takes you up to the Jeux ski lift.
Before the climb up to the Jeux ski lift, signs and milestones point the way to the Balade des Lacs.
Depending on the season, you'll be able to admire up to five ice-covered lakes, as well as ice cascades, which are real natural attractions along the way.
All along the route, it is imperative to follow the trail markings. Please keep off the cross-country ski trails and stay exclusively on the marked routes.
The walk takes you to the Alpette and back.
Skiing is only permitted during lift opening hours. We therefore recommend that you leave enough time to reach the starting village before 4pm.
Welcome: Check the Espace Alpe d'Huez website or app to find out when tours are open, or ask directly at the lift ticket offices.
Follow the signs, stay on the authorized itineraries
and avoid cross-country ski trails.
Plan your return before the lifts close, with a safety margin.
For prices, information is available at the lift ticket offices.
