Follow the signs for Sisteron/Gap along the A480 motorway.
Take Exit n°8 “Vizille – Stations de l’Oisans”
Follow the N85 to Vizille then the D1091 towards Briançon, go left along the D526 towards “Allemond > Vaujany > Oz en Oisans > Villard-Reculas”, then follow the D44 and the D44B until you reach Villard-Reculas.

From Briançon (05)

Villard-Reculas: 85 Km // 1 hour 45 min
Follow the D1091 towards Grenoble via Le Col du Lautaret (2057 m), go around Bourg d’Oisans, follow the signs for Grenoble and stay on the D1091. Go right on the D526 towards “Allemond > Vaujany > Oz en Oisans > Villard-Reculas”. Follow the D44 and the D44B until you reach Villard-Reculas.

From Gap (05)

Villard-Reculas: 115 Km // 2 hours 15 min
Follow the “Route Napoléon” N85 towards Grenoble.
After “La Salle en Beaumont”, follow signs for “Valbonnais > Col d’Ornon > Bourg d’Oisans” along the D26a and then the D526. Turn left on the D1091 towards Grenoble. Go right on the D526 towards “Allemond > Vaujany > Oz en Oisans > Villard-Reculas”. Follow the D44 and the D44B until you reach Villard-Reculas.

Special equipment

As of the 1st November 2021, motorists in the 48 French departments across the mountain ranges are obliged to be equipped with snow tyres for the winter (you can also opt for 4 season tyres, offering the same level of performance all year round), or snow chains inside the vehicle, to use if needed.

You must therefore make sure you have the following for your car:
– either snow chains for at least two drive wheels,
– or winter tyres for at least two drive wheels (even though it is recommended to equip all four tyres for better grip on the snow).

Some recommendations:
– Make sure the chains are easily accessible so you don’t have to empty the boot of your car to find them, if needed!
– Remember to pack a pair of gloves and a headlamp!
